Tane the Tuatara is handcrafted in New Zealand by The Woodlands Wooden Toys.

The name tuatara translates to meaning "peaks on the back". New Zealand's largest reptile can grow up to about half a metre.

Tane lies at 19 cm long by 6 cm high and is made with sustainably sourced maple wood. He is made with sustainably sourced ash wood. The paints, tints and oils are all VOC free, plant and mineral based and made in New Zealand.

The Woodlands is a story of embarking on a journey of low waste and creating toys that had low impact on the environment. Its ethos is about back to basics, children having to work for their play outside of technology or battery operated toys means imaginations flourish!
