Kora the Kiwi - Handcrafted in NZ

£16.00

Kora the Kiwi is handcrafted in New Zealand by The Woodlands Wooden Toys. It’s the New Zealand national emblem that roams the bushes in the dark of the night foraging on the forest floors.

It was actually Australians that coined the name ‘kiwi’ to describe New Zealanders. During World War II, New Zealander’s would use a boot shine with an image of a kiwi on the tin. The Australian’s noticed this and started calling New Zealanders, kiwis!

Kora stands at 11 cm long and 6 cm high. She is made with sustainably sourced ash wood. The paints, tints and oils are all VOC free, plant and mineral based and made in New Zealand.

The Woodlands is a story of embarking on a journey of low waste and creating toys that had low impact on the environment. Its ethos is about back to basics, children having to work for their play outside of technology or battery operated toys means imaginations flourish!
